Dublin is gearing up for the 45th running of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon, taking place on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Where and When
The marathon gets underway with the wheelchair start at 8:40 AM, followed by the first of four waves at 8:45 AM. Runners will assemble on Leeson Street Lower, making their way through Dublin’s most recognisable streets and across iconic landmarks, before the finish line near Pepper Canister Church on Mount Street Upper.
How to Take Part
Although general entry via the ballot has now closed, there are still ways to secure a place. The official transfer window opens from 22 July to 23 September 2026, allowing entries to be transferred to new runners. Additionally, a limited number of places are available through the event’s partner charities, offering a chance to raise funds for excellent causes while joining thousands of runners from Dublin and beyond.
Race Pack Collection
All registered runners will collect their race packs at the popular Marathon Expo, returning to the Main Hall of the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Ballsbridge on Thursday and Friday, 23–24 October 2026. The Expo is a local fixture, bringing together participants, supporters, and suppliers ahead of the big day.
